Teton Science Schools have been teaching about the natural world and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem since 1967. The organization has educated, trained and inspired students of all ages, achieving the mission of connecting people, nature, place and education. Teton Science Schools enjoy a national reputation for innovative place-based educational programs which serve as models worldwide.
School and Youth Groups
The professional staff at Teton Science Schools designs and customizes each program to meet the educational goals and learning needs of every group. Programs are collaboratively planned with organization leaders to ensure that educational standards and objectives are integrated into program designs. Courses might include plant and animal adaptations, geology, ecology, weather and snow science.
Summer Youth Adventures
Summer months include a variety of in-residence and day learning adventures which provides place-based, experiential education opportunities for youth of all ages, from fostering leadership skills to building awareness of sustainability issues. Participants will leave with a deep understanding and appreciation for the ecology and unique natural history of the Greater Yellowstone Geo-ecosystem.
Adult and Family Adventures
These programs offer opportunities for families and adults to learn about the natural history, geology and culture of the Greater Yellowstone Geo-ecosystem. Week-long, weekend and day-long courses are offered with on campus housing available. Exploritas programs combine the week-long format of this worldwide leader in education with the strengths of Teton Science Schools’ place-based learning experiences for active older adults.
Campuses and Location
The Jackson Campus of Teton Science Schools is located less than two miles from the town of Jackson, Wyoming. Perfectly poised to benefit from Jackson Hole’s unique setting and community, the nearly 900-acre campus is comprised of creeks, ponds, aspen, conifer, grassland and sage habitats. The Kelly Campus is the original campus of Teton Science Schools. From here one may enjoy views extending from the foot of the Gros Ventre Mountains through the sage flats of Jackson Hole and across the Snake River to the rising of the majestic Teton Range.
