MU High School offers homeschooling families a flexible, quality alternative to classroom attendance, including an accredited high school diploma. Students choose from more than 200 online courses for grades 3-12 — ranging from core requirements to electives and Advanced Placement subjects — and benefit from award-winning instruction and student services.
High school diploma
Choose from either of two diploma options: the general high school diploma or the college preparatory diploma. Intriguing and challenging courses await diploma students, including Advanced Placement, gifted, foreign languages and special topics.
Independent study courses
Our independent study courses, which give self-motivated students maximum flexibility and allow them to work at their own pace, are quite popular with homeschooling families. Students can enroll any time of year, study when and where it’s most convenient, and complete courses in as little as six weeks — or take up to nine months.
MUHS also offers semester courses in some of the more challenging subjects like language arts, as well as all of our AP offerings. Working together as a class, students follow a semester timeline, with specific starting and ending dates. Although students maintain control of their study time, there are assignment due dates to ensure that everyone in the class keeps pace. Students also have direct communication with their teacher and classmates through regularly scheduled online discussions.
Life skills courses
MUHS offers several enriching courses, including interactive “Driver Education,” “Personal Finance,” “Fitness for Well-Being,” “Health” and more. These courses prepare students for future real-world success.
For grades 3 – 8, we offer a complete selection of core courses, covering language arts, math, science and social science. We also offer several special topics courses for grades 3 – 8, including “Consumer Education,” “Creative Writing,” “Study Skills for Middle School Students” and “Medieval Life.”
MU High School is accredited by the Commission on International and Transregional Accreditation, the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement and is an institutional member of the International Association for K-12 Online Learning.
Many of our courses offer a preview, which gives you access to one lesson and one progress evaluation for that course.
