Nevada Homeschool Laws
Overview
- Students attend between the ages 7 through 18.
- English (including reading, composition, and writing), mathematics, science, and social studies (including history geography, economics and government) as appropriate for the age and skill level of the child as the parent determines.
- File a notice of intentto homeschool with the Nevada standard form before beginning to homeschool and compose an educational plan.
- Nevada Law provides for a waiver of the compulsory attendance laws and procedures for parents/guardians to follow in pursuing the waiver.
- The child is enrolled in a private school
- A parent of the child chooses to provide education to the child and files a notice of intent to homeschool the child with the superintendent of schools of the school district in which the child resides.
- f the parent of a child who is subject to compulsory attendance wishes to homeschool the child; the parent must file with the superintendent of schools of the school district in which the child
