In Ohio, parents desiring to educate their children at home must do so by notifying their local school district superintendents and meeting the requirements of Ohio law to home school. If requirements are met, the district superintendent releases the student from required compulsory school attendance. This excuses the student and family from school attendance requirements in state law.
Overview:
• Provide 900 hours of instruction per year
• Be conversant with the homeschooling laws
• Notify the superintendent every year
• Fulfill the Ohio legal requirements — http://education.ohio.gov/
• Provide an annual assessment of the students work
• Requirements for assessment are here https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-administrative-code/rule-3301-34-04
