Overview

  • Homeschooling students between the ages 6 through 18
  • Testing at the end of grades 3, 5 8, and 10
  • The parent/guardian is responsible for the cost of testing.
  • Notify local school district when beginning to homeschool with identification and receive acknowledgment in writing.
  • Notify the local Education Service District (ESD of intent to homeschool within 10 days of withdrawing from public or private school.
  • Notification only required initially, not annually.
  • A home-schooled child may participate interscholastic activities as long as the statues and administrative rules are followed. Interscholastic Activities Eligibility Requirement for Home School Students. Interscholastic activities include those activities administered by the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA).
  • Parent/guardian submits the results of the test to the ESD within a reasonable period of time
